D.O.B. November 15, 1982 Hometown: Waterbury, Connecticut Parents: Damita J. Mathis & Stewart Welch (Deceased) Despite being the first male born into his mothers side of the family in almost 27 years, Shaun was always thought to be a special child. As early as age 12, Shaun's artistic gifts began to blossom in the form of acting and artistry. Shaun's mother, a single mother until Shaun was 8, supported and encouraged his activities the moment they started to reveal themselves. At that age, Shaun decided on his career choice, he wanted to act. That choice led him to display behavioral problems in school and a disinterest in academics. In the sixth grade, Shaun discovered that he also had the ability to connect with people through writing, but his writing development took a back seat to his dream of acting. If he had the choice, he would draw and make people laugh all day but naturally this did not go over well with his mother. Despite the love Shaun's mother had for him, his homelife was all but perfect. At age 15, Shaun was placed in a foster home in which he met local rapper Quincy Griffin. Quincy was the member of a local rising group called the W.O.L.F. Pak and that had a very strong impression on Shaun. During that time, Shaun longed for a sense of belonging and a family. He found that with his foster brother Quincy and the other members of the W.O.L.F. Pak. To gain is acceptance he had to learn to rap, so Shaun stepped away from the canvas and picked up a microphone. Still ignoring is academics, Shaun also discovered his speed and joined the high school track team. Now, the only thing important in Shaun's life was writing, rapping and running. Due to his lyrics and violent behavior, Shaun was nicknamed the Devil and his writing darkened. At 17, Shaun was returned to his mother who purchased him a beginers DJ set. Turning the basement of their home into a Continuing to rap and perform, Shaun's writing developed more creatively and in 2001 he moved to Atlanta with fellow W.O.L.F. Pak members Tracy Graves, Wes Heyward (1/2 of the rap duo Mook & Fair) and Jusmula, for the shot at a record deal. In Atlanta, Shaun and his friends lived together, wrote together and performed together for 16 months before the group decided to head back to Connecticut due to things not going as planned. Shaun decided to stay in Atlanta and achieve what he set out to do. There he re-enrolled in school, Georgia State University, and performed at night. After things taking a huge turn for the worse, which caused Shaun to live on the streets of Atlanta for 8 months, Shaun went back to Connecitcut to regroup.
In the mist of all he has done in his life, Shaun relentlessly loved one woman, a souther bell, of whom he was never in the same state with. In 2003, Shaun met another woman, a Brazilian print model, whom he fell in love with as well. Shaun's love then became divided among the two women as he despertly tried to decide which one to be with. This was by far the biggest battle Shaun had fought his entire life as he battled with the feeling in his mind, his own heart in addition to the rules of society and religion in terms of love. In 2005 his battle was over and he had lost. Both the women left him four days apart from the other sending Shaun into an unimaginagle depressed state. Two months after the heartbreaking event, Shaun was in no better shape than the day it happened and decided to end the pain permantely. Shaun planned his suicide but not before telling the truth first. Shaun realized that instead of being honest with the two women he was torn between, he had lied and stole their love as well as their option to continue the relationship with him. Due to the fact, Shaun thought that the pain he was feeling was in no comparision to the pain he had caused, which actually made him feel worse.
Today, Shaun resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his two-year old daughter |

studio, Shaun along with members of his own group, spent countless hours writing, beat making and recording. At the same time, colleges began taking an interest in Shaun's athletic ability prompting him to take his academics seriously. He did and subsequently, Shaun was accepted into Virginia State University, Saint Augustine's College and Morehouse College. Each school offered partial track scholarships but Shaun chose to go to Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh North Carolina to pursue something something in addition to academics and athletics.
Reunited with his group, Shaun continued to rap and on May 5, 2003, Shaun and the rest of the W.O.L.F. Pak won a radio song battle to open up for hip hop heavy weight, Talib Kweli. Four other openings for major acts and a song in rotation on the radio had Shaun and his friends beliving that a record deal was soon to follow, but that deal never came.
The idea for his first novel was born. This Hurts, rightfully titled, was Shaun's public apology as well as an honest account of his actions with the explainations to go along with them. Once the novel was completed, Shaun realized that his idea of love did not fit the idea of religion and socitey and he figured out why he had done what he had done. With this revelation, Shaun vowed not to hurt another woman the way he had hurt the two women who enternally have large pieces of his heart. The success of This Hurts sparked the sequel This Still Hurts and has made Shaun into a very successful independent author. To date, This Hurts has sold 8,000 cpoies independently. However, This Still Hurts has failed to reach those numbers due to Shaun deciding to pull both novels from circulation at the wishes of the two women whom the female characters were depicted.
